Led by Union Catholic junior Jimmy Wischusen at 15:35 there are five athletes returning under 16 minutes from last season at Holmdel Park.
Wischusen broke out last fall to finish fifth at the Meet of Champions with his state leading 15:35, which is the sophomore course record at Holmdel, and he's the only returner to go sub-16 twice at the historic park in 2021. He also ran 15:48 at Group Championships, and he was close at Shore Coaches with a 16:07 in October.
Colin Riley of Jonathan Dayton HS won the Group 1 State Championship before finishing 12th at MOCs with his 15:54. He continued to make strong improvements through indoor and outdoor track.
