Event Preview
]With seven girls under 7.10 this season battling out of the blocks,, including defending champion Sianni Wynn of Pennsauken, there's a strong chance this race could produce multiple sub 7.00 times for the first time since 2008, and the meet automatic time record of 6.92 could go down. The last time two girls ran under 7.00 at this meet was when Ogechi Nwaneri of Chatham (6.93) and Dominique Booker (6.98) went 1-2 in 2008. Booker set the meet record of 6.82 when she won in 2007
Senior Naylah Jones of Timber Creek is the state leader at 6.93, but Wynn defeated Jones when she ran an NJ No. 4 7.04 to win the State Group 3 title. Wynn, who will also defend her 200 title, has a PR of 7.00 that she ran to win last year.
The other sub 7.10 sprinters who have a great shot to win are Ryan Jennings of Timber Creek (7.01), Taylor Cox of Union Catholic (7.02), Delaney Farley of Scotch Plains-Fanwood (7.04), Eastern States champ Natasha Redmond of Mount Olive (7.07), and Taylor Aska of Union Catholic (7.08).
