Event Preview

This could be a can't miss showdown on Sunday between Alanna Woolfolk and Saniyah Evans. Both with season bests of 5-8, the only two to clear that height for New Jersey.

Clayton HS senior Alanna Woolfolk enters the Meet of Champions undefeated this season with a grand total of 11 victories including the Group 1 state title and Eastern States Championships.

She won the indoor Meet of Champions as a sophomore in 2022 at a height of 5-6, she returned in 2023 to clear 5-6 once again but lost to the now graduated Samantha Strydesky on jumps.

Woolkfolk also has two outdoor Meet of Champions victories, she won as a freshman in 2021 and again in 2023.

Rahway HS senior Saniyah Evans has five wins and one loss this season, her only 2nd place finish coming on jumps during the Sectional Championships.

She's the Group 3 State Champion in the 55m hurdles and high jump, and won the Eastern States Championships in the long jump. 

Evans vs Woolfolk should be an awesome competition, we'll have to see how many events Evans will go after having qualified in the 55m hurdles, high jump, long jump, and dash.

Dahlia Beasley of Washington Township and Ama Boateng of Edison HS have also cleared 5-6 this season tied for NJ No. 3 and a number of girls are tied for NJ No. 5 at 5-4.
