Event Preview
Defending champion and state leader Taylor Cox of Union Catholic is arguably the biggest biggest favorite on the track.
Cox, a junior, has run 7.82 this season, which is No. 5 in NJ history and No. 3 in the nation this winter. No one else in this field has broken 8.00.
Cox, who broke legendary Sydney McLaughlin's All-Group meet record when she ran 7.84 at the Non-Public A meet, will now be chasing McLaughlin's meet record of 7.82 that was set in 2015.
Among those will seek to pull off the huge upset are Mount Olive's Morgan Ryerson, who won the Eastern States title in 8.02, Abigail Dennis of Old Tappan, the 100 meter hurdles winner at the Meet of Champions last spring who has run 8.06
