Event Preview

Sophia Curtis of Ocean City is ready for take off this Sunday at Ocean Breeze.

The current state leader with her 39-11 from back in December. Curtis has four triple jump marks in 2024 winning three of them, and is undefeated against New Jersey athletes. She's the top returner from the 2023 Indoor Meet of Champions where she finished second at 38-08 behind the meet record mark of 39-06.25 by Alexandra Bonn. 

We could very well see that meet record go down on Sunday.

Curtis has cleared 39-10 twice this season, her state leading performance of 39-11 as well as a 39-10.5 to win the Metropolitan Invitational in late January.

As mentioned in the long jump preview this is one of four events in which Winslow Township sophomore Ma'Syiah Brawner qualified into MOCs. She's also the top seed in the long jump.

Brawner finished sixth in this triple jump showcase as a freshman last winter at 35-02. She has a season best of 39-3 from late January which is NJ No. 2 this season, her only 39+ mark on the year.
