Lia Malave has entered the chat. The Toms River North senior hit a major PR to win Eastern State Championships on March 1st and jumped to the state lead with her only recorded long jump performance of the season.
Only three others have cleared 18 feet this season!
Grace McQueeney of River Dell held the state lead for a long while jumping 18-0 at the end of December. Then Alexandra Bonn tied for NJ No. 1 with an 18-0 at the Hall of Fame Invite on Jan 20th.
Abigail Dennis of NV Old Tappan is certainly in contention for the win as is Saniyah Evans of Rahway and Julia Tozduman of Lyndhurst.
