Hold the phones! We now have two jumpers over 5-8 in the Garden State.
The defending champ Alanna Woolfolk of Clayton HS cleared a PR height of 5-8 to win Eastern States on March 1st.
This ties Woolfolk with Samantha Strydesky of Howell HS who has held the state lead at 5-8 since January 14th at State Relays. Strydesky does have two 5-8 clearances however, she repeated the mark on February 6th to win the Varsity Classic.
Both state leading athletes also rank US No. 8 this season. And it may take another 5-08 clearance to settle this thing on Sunday.
Norina Khanzada of Tenafly nhas also cleared 5-6 this season, they rank NJ No. 3. Olyvia Burrell of Emerson HS made 5-4.25 during Bergen County Champs for NJ No. 4 and then a bunch of athletes are tied for NJ No. 5 with a height of 5-4.
