Friday was a record setting day at the Penn Relays for New Jersey, and we have it all covered below!



Blair Bartlett & Leah Starkey Both Run Under Previous 3K State Record
Bartlett clocked a 9:04.92, Starkey 9:08.61!
They are both national class records, the two fastest in NJ history, the two fastest times in meet history, and two of the fastest times run in U.S. history. They both destroyed the meet record of 9:13.60 set last year by Bartlett.

Union Catholic Girls Run 11:24.26 DMR Meet Record
The 11:24.26 by the Union Catholic distance medley squad broke their school's own meet record of 11:24.53 from just last year. This is the fourth straight wheel they've won at Penn Relays in10cluding two straight 4x800m in 2023 and 2024 and now two straight DMR victories in 2025 and 2026.

Hackensack & Union Catholic 4x800m Advance to COA
From separate heats Hackensack, 7:46.11, and Union Catholic, 7:46.61, moved onto the Championship of American race ranked third and fourth among all times.

Christian Brothers Academy Finishes Third in Quick DMR, NJ No. 6 All-Time
A quick DMR race saw CBA finishing third with a time of 9:56.57. The quick pace of the field saw the top three finishers all dip under the meet record previously held by NJ's Hopewell Valley at 9:57.77 since 2018. Mifflin County (PA) broke the record with a 9:54.01, North Penn (PA) was second at 9:56.49.
Bergen Catholic, Winslow Twp, and Union Catholic Make Northeast 4x100m Final
Bergen Catholic clocked 41.59, Winslow Township 41.63, and Union Catholic 41.89 to advance to the Northeast final scheduled to run on Saturday at 4:25pm.

Winslow Township Wins 4x100m Northeast Final, Double Back in 4x400m COA
The Winslow Twp girls clocked a 46.39 to win the Northeast final setting an event record for the meet and No. 9 in state history. Union Catholic ran second in that race as well at 46.76.
Winslow's same squad came back for the 4x400m Championship of America where they finished fifth overall at 3:41.17.
Jalele Williams Third in Long Jump
Jalele Williams hit a 23-6.75 (+0.3) on his fourth attempt to finish third overall, the performance also moves the junior up to NJ No. 3.

Ben Andrus Runs Fifth in Mile Championship
Haddonfield senior Ben Andrus ran to fifth in the mile clocked at 4:16.84. He was followed by three New Jersey runners as well with Danny Kuran of UC in sixth, Kennan Byers of Randoloh in seventh, and Agrim Jha of West Windsor Plainsboro North in eighth.

Anthony Agnoli Eighth in Boys Discus
Montville Township's Anthony Agnoli was the top New Jersey finisher in the discus throw with a mark of 170-7, which is by far the New Jersey No. 1 mark of the season entering the weekend.
Evan Yuzon Sixth in Boys Shot Put
Glen Rock's Evan Yuzon hit a mark of 59-7.5 to finish sixth overall, the junior thrower entered this weekend already ranked NJ No. 1 with a season best of 61-9 from early April.
Dylan Hosty Earns Sixth in Mile
Haddonfield freshman Dylan Hosty ran to sixth clocking 4:49.48 after a strong second half of her race saw her game seven spots, she split a 68.79 over the final lap!

Alex Kessler Finishes Sixth in Javelin
Alex Kessler threw 200-5 to finished sixth in the javelin at Penn Relays. The star junior came into the weekend already ranked NJ No. 1 with a season best of 211-7. Landen Cruz of Edison was seventh with a season best of 193-0 and Brady Shine ninth at 189-4.
Brendan Alef Ninth in Triple Jump
NV Demarest's Brendan Alef was New Jersey's leading triple jumper finishing ninth with a mark of 47-1.75. The junior already ranks NJ No. 1 with a season best of 49-3.5.
Mason Murray Sixth in Pole Vault
Delsea Regional's Mason Murray cleared 14-2 to tie for sixth overall, and improved upon his previous season best of 14-0 which ranks NJ No. 6.
Malik Mohammed Leading NJ High Jumper
Malik Mohammed of West Side cleared 6-5 to finished 12th overall, and was the leading New Jersey finisher. Supreme Stradford of Cherry Hill West also cleared 6-5 and placed 15th overall.
Ryan Collins 13th in 3000m
CBA's Ryan Collins ran to 13th in the 3K running 8:34.83.
