NJ Future Stars: Amelia Pattwell and Liam Angley

Each week we will choose two underclassmen to highlight as up-and-coming future stars of New Jersey cross country!

Amelia Pattwell - FR - Middletown South

The Middletown South cross country program has had a history of success and was already entering this season among the best in the state, then enters Amelia Pattwell.

The star freshman has already shown her ability to help elevate this team, running 20:25 in her Holmdel Park 5K opener and placing third during the Shore B North Divisional Championships.

She also has two freshman class 2-mile races on her sheet, a 12:01 second-place run at the Battle at Ocean County Park, and her first high school victory earning gold at the Thompson Park Class Meet clocking 11:46.

The NJ No. 8 Middletown South girls now head into the all-important months of October and November, high-pressure racing and invaluable experience wait ahead for this up-and-coming distance star.

Liam Angley - FR - St. Peter's Prep

St. Peter's Prep seems to be battling within the top 20 rankings year in and year out, and it seems they have developing talent ready to help carry that torch into the future. One of those up-and-coming stars is Liam Angley.

Angley has run three freshman class races so far this season and has three top-three finishes to show for it, including a victory at the St. Dominic Academy Invitational to kick off the season.

He won the freshman race at St. Dominics with a 10:18 for 2 miles, was third during the Battle at Ocean County Park with an 11:03, and recorded a second-place finish running 11:16 over the 2.2-mile freshman course at Magee Memorial

He'll likely have chances to contribute to the team on the 5K side moving forward. Possibly even this upcoming weekend at the Shore Coaches Invitational.
