Samantha Strydesky clears the 5-8 bar at Group 4 Relays, full high jump competition can be watched here.NJSIAA State Relays Coverage HubHowell HS senior Samantha Strydesky cleared the 5-08 bar for the first time indoors during Saturday's high jump competition at NJSIAA Group 4 State Relay Championships. With that height she took over sole possession of the New Jersey state lead and tied for US No. 6 on the season. This also helped lead her two-person relay team to a Group 4 state title in the event totaling 10-8 thanks to the addition of Kaitlyn Inzerillo's 5-0 jump. They currently lead all high jump tandems in New Jersey this season by six inches totaling 10-10, Inzerillo cleared 5-2 earlier this season, and the entire country by 1 inch. Webster Schroeder (NY) is currently second in the US with a height of 10-9 featuring US No. 1 ranked Camryn Cole at 5-11 and Angela Teoharev at 4-10. The national team rankings based on recorded bests this indoor season while competing for high school teams. While Strydesky's previous best indoors was 5-06, which she had cleared number of times, she did clear 5-08 twice outdoors. Both instances coming last spring while winning the Group 4 State Championship and NJSIAA Meet of Champions as a junior. The performance was also New Jersey's first time over the 5-08 bar indoors since the 2020 season when Jenna Rogers, 5-9, Tierra Hooker, 5-8, and Madison Cappuccio, 5-8, led the state in the girls high jump.Strydesky will be heading to University of Pennsylvania next fall.Related Content:HUB: NJSIAA State Relays Coverage & ResultsRANKINGS: New Jersey Girls High JumpStrydesky clearing 5-4 back in December to win the Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival.
