Glen Rock First Team Title Since 2001!
With a time of 16:55 junior Max Kahn became Mountain Lakes' first North 1 Group 1 champion since 2018 when Jared Cooper won his second in a row.
Glen Rock's seniors Ben Raser and Ben Habler finished second and third to spark the start of a 54 to 75 victory over Kinnelon. This is Glen Rock's second all-time sectional title and their first since 2001!
Also on that Sectional winning Glen Rock squad was Ryan Wolfe in eighth 17:56, Devin Smith 16th 18:39, freshman Colton Johnson 25th 19:25 and their displacers Neil Saxena and Jacob Cece were 31st and 48th.

Einreinhofer Take Over, Glen Rock Repeats
Junior Delana Einreinhofer of Wallkill Valley ran to her first Sectional cross country win clocked at 21:03, six seconds ahead of Grace Mougalian of Kinnelon at 21:09.
This is Einreinhofer's first cross country season and so far it's been a strong one.
On the team side the Glen Rock girls made it two straight, successfully defending their 2022 title with a score of 64 to 91 over Mountain Lakes!
They were led by Lily McNair in fourth at 22:07 and Jenna Yim fifth 22:13. Amber Wang was 13th, Abigail Manley 22nd, and Brianna Donatelli closing their scoring five in 26th. Displacers Abigail Mazin and Callista Nonas were 29th and 45th.

Kurtz and Phillips Fight to the End!
Patrick Kurtz of Pascack Valley won an absolute battle with Daniel Phillips of Indian Hills clocking 16:53 and 16:54 for first and second respectively.
Phillips still had the opportunity to celebrate a championship however, leading his Indian Hills team's winning 36 point performance. Their first win since 2020, a school with a history of success in cross country.
Behind Phillips were teammates Nico Tucci seventh, Frank Coppa eighth, Lukas Kertesz ninth, Justin Vitale 14th, and displacers Brady Dransfield 15th and Michael McCormick 61st.
Indian Hills, Demarest, Pascack Hills, West Milford, and Old Tappan all move on. Pascack Valley a tough finish just one point out from advancement.

Allen Keeps Rolling! Indian Hills Leads The Field
Christina Allen's great season continues, the star senior out of of River Dell took home the North 1 Group 2 title running 19:10.
She was six seconds ahead of Morris County Tech's junior Maya Van Horn, who has been running really strong this season as well and is the Section's top returner into 2024.
Allen is River Dell's first winner since Shannon Goria in 2017.
The Indian Hills girls were the victors in a tight 79 to 99 victory over NV Old Tappan, Lakeland was third at 106, NV Demarest fourth 113, and West Milford 120 with the final advancement spot! My goodness what an awesome team battle.
Sectional champs Indian Hills were led by senior Alyssa Maybeck running third at 20:51. Teammates Summer Myhren seventh, Camryn Finn ninth, Madeline Coppa 28th, and displacers Avarie Bergen 36th and Riley Horgan 79th.
Indian Hills last won in 2019 after defending their 2018 title.

Schagelin Wins Deep Individuals Race
Luke Schagelin of Morris Knolls clocked a 16:28 to win the North 1 Group 3 ahead of the likes of Alex Pelov of Montville 16:36, Joshua Tejada of Teaneck 16:44, and Nicholas Falcone of Morris Hills 16:55. Mathew Califf of Wayne Valley also under 16 minutes running 16:59.
The Randolph boys won their first Sectional title since winning North 1 Group 4 back to back in 2008 and 2009. This is their first in this specific North 1 Group 3 Sectional. Teams move around year to year based on NJSIAA formulas involving school size and location.
Junior Thomas Amato led Ranolph's squad in seventh 17:14. He was followed by teammates Kennan Byers 15th, Preston Gumann 17th, Ryan Barnett 19th, Advay Rajesh 28th, and Andy Michelin 73rd.

Northern Highlands Continuing History of Sectional Success
Two juniors led the North 1 Group 3 race which was won by Ivory Piskila of Morris Hills 19:44, second was Brianna Potaki of Ramapo 20:14.
After those two it was all about Northern Highlands who captured their second straight team title and their 12th title in the past 19 years!
Allison Courtney and Autumn Ritter led the team in third and fourth running 20:27 and 20:41 respectively. Sadie Meloro was eighth, Rebecca Maclaren 11th, Farrah Dello Russo 14th, Sophie Smith 17th, and Abigail Gamarello 44th.

RIDGEWOOD POSTS 15 ON THE GROUP 4 FIELD!
Star junior Luke Pash of Ridgewood clocked a 16:21 leading a PERFECT SCORE one through five finish by Ridgewood. DJ Murphy, Chris Brady, Trevor Kane, and Jett Lincoln closing out Ridgewood's scoring by fifth place and all running 16:56 or below.
The team averaged 16:44 and split just 35 seconds.
Their displacers also ran well finishing eighth and ninth extending their lead on the field, that was Benjamin Papageorge and Tom Mevissen. An epic performance by Ridgewood here who has had a long history of championships in this section.

Cellina Rabolli clocked a 19:45 to lead a 27 point run by the Ridgewood girls averaging 20:24 and splitting 1:08 on the tough Garret Mountain course. This is their sixth straight title!
Avery McAdams of Montclair was second at 20:00, Liz Fis of Union City third at 20:06.
Behind Rabolli's individual victory were teammates Ayla Cooke fourth, Katherine Keating sixth, Avery Sheridan seventh, Eilat Kissil ninth, and displacers Lola Jacqueline14th and Sofia Lanzisera 31st.
