 Kristen Traub (14) has not taken one step in a high school cross country race, but she is already on every major newspaper’s Runners to Watch list for this upcoming cross country season.

 What makes Kristen Traub so special that would make such knowledgeable journalists stand up and take notice? Traub has been ranked by the USTAF and AAU as one of the top five runners in country in four of the last five years in the 1,500 meter and 3,000 meter races in her age group

On Saturday November 11, 2006 the temperature in Atlanta Georgia was 67 degrees. In Houston, Texas the high temperature was 68 degrees. In Norman, Okalahoma the temperature reached 59 degrees. All these cities are below the Mason Dixon Line. All are Southern cities. However two weeks before Thanksgiving in Holmdel, New Jersey, the site of the New Jersey Cross Country High School Group Championships, the temperature was 68 degrees with 76% humidity. It was as hot and humid in Holmdel on Saturday as it was in Houston, Texas.
