The indoor track and field season has returned in a flash and MileSplit New Jersey is once again set to be your go to source for results and more all season long.

This article features links to opening week meets as well as any notes or coverage connected to them. Note the written highlights listed under various meets are meant as quick looks and will not feature every winner, for a deeper look take a look at the meet page elites and results.

If you have tips, videos, or photos to share with us involving elite performances from around the state, make sure to share them with us for potential posting! We can't be everywhere so if you have a video of a major performance we will gladly upload and tag the athlete accordingly as well as potentially feature the performance in an article.

Ridge Winter Invitational

What an opening meet, check the full recap. Marquis Taylor of Woodbury didn't wait long to pop off impressive performances, the senior won the 200m at 22.14 and the 55m with a 6.46. Union Catholic's Taylor Aska also had a double win on the night leading the 400m at 55.36 and 200m at 24.12. 

Taylor Cox of Union Catholic clocked a US No. 1 time of 7.76 in the 55m hurdles. Alex Pelov of Montville Twp ran an early state-leading 1600m time with his 4:17.38. Hillside's Yverson Alexandre won the 55m hurdles at 7.49. CBA's sprint squad also hit a 1:31.56 in the 4x200m and 3:26.68 in the 4x400m.


Monmouth U. TC Indoor Showcase #1

Capp DeSheplo of West Morris Central opened with a 59-4.5 mark in the shot put. NJ No. 1 ahead of the Saturday meets.


Rebel Shot/Field Series 1

Julia Santos of Toms River South has the state-leading shot put mark heading into Saturday thanks to her mark of 42-1 at this meet.

Wayne Gardiner Holiday Relays

Multiple early US No. 1 relays from this one. From the boys meet Paramus Catholic clocked a 30.69 in the 4x55m shuttle, Chatham ran to 8:02.16 in the 4x800m, and Bernards won the DMR with a 10:33.74.

On the girls side Morris Hills won the SMR with a 4:24.34 and Roxbury the DMR at 12:51.16, both early US No. 1 times.

HCTCA Meet #1

Jaden Bryan of St. Peter's Prep cleared 6-02 in the high jump, and Micel Martinez of Union City cleared 5-02.

SJTCA #1

Two over 6-8 already! Jayden DeLeon of Highland Reg and Rolando Simpson of Rahway both cleared 6-08 with DeLeon credited with the head-to-head victory. Seven boys cleared 6-0 at this one.

Sanaa Thomas of Rahway cleared 5-02. Christopher Scott of Willingboro 6.59 in the 55m.
