Ridge and St. Peter's Prep hooked up in a red hot distance medley relay duel that produced the two fastest times in the state this season at the Midseason Relay Showdown on Monday at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge.

Ridge came out on top with a NJ #1 and US#4 10:12.77, and St. Peter's Prep was second in a NJ#2 and US#7 10:17.29! Both teams shattered its school records.

Senior Will Pinto got things started for Ridge with a 3:08.4 1,200m carry. Senior Luke Roberts followed with a 48.6 400. Then junior James Kisker ran 1:59.2 on the 800 leg, and junior Jackson Barna brought it home with a 4:16.2 anchor.

Ridge's 10:12.77 smashed the school record of 10:22.60 that was set in 2019. Pinto (1,200) and Roberts (400) both ran on the 2019 DMR squad, which also included Alex Sargen (800) and Ryan Lindrud (1,600).

Ridge is now on top of the state rankings in two distance relay races this season!

Back in March, the same foursome of Kisker, Roberts, Pinto and Barna shared the baton when Ridge finished first in the 4x800 in a NJ#1 and US #3 7:49.25 at the NSAF USA Meet of Champions in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

St. Peter's Prep's DMR lineup consisted of Edwin Klanke (3:05.7), Joey Morrone (48.4) Jack Sipperly (2:04.5), and Rodolfo Sanchez (4:18.9), who combined to take down the school record of 10:28.76 set in 2013.
