In the Varsity A race, Secaucus jammed three runners in the top five and averaged 14:52 over the 2-5-mile layout on the way to a 45-75 victory over runner-up Horace Mann of NY.
Daniel ChinchillaMohammed Alobaidi, fourth in 14:34.34, and Sebastian Flood, fifth in 14:38.20. The No. 4 runner for Secaucus was Mohamed Abada, 15th in 15:13.77, and Vishwa Naik completed the scoring for Secaucus when he crossed 26th in 15:40.
A young rising star from Secaucus also shined as Younes Abada won the boys Freshman B race in 9:00.0.
In the boys Freshman A race, CBA rocked the historic layout with one of the best races ever run over the 1.5-mile course.
With Nicholas Sullivan leading the attack, CBA went 1-2-3-5-6 and blasted an average of 8:49, No. 2 in CBA history, to runaway with the team title. Sullivan nearly broke the CBA school record with his winning time of 8:23.3. The CBA school freshman record for Vanny is 8:19.6, which was set in 1979 by Paul Marabito.
CBA's four runners behind Sullivan also put together great races. They were Lucas Ward, second in 8:41, Kiernan Leary, third in 8:46, Matthew Mastroly, fifth in 9:04, and Sean Lawson placed sixth in 9:10.
CBA's five-man average of 8:49 was just off the school course record of 8:48 set by the 1981 team.
