Natalie Dumas did it again!!
The legendary star at Eastern added another huge record to her already deep collection when she broke the oldest All Groups Meet Record by dropping a 2:04.19 to repeat as the girls' Group 4 800-meter run on Friday at Franklin High School.
The 2:04.19 by the University of Arkansas-bound Dumas took down the overall All Groups record (that's all the Groups combined) of 2:04.5 that 4-time Olympian Joetta Clark of Columbia ran at the Group 4 meet in 1980, and is just off the 2:04.00 that Dumas ran earlier this month, which is U.S. No. 3 this season.
Dumas, who split 58.5 for the first 400, ran a state record 2:00.11 when she won the 800 at the New Balance National Championships last June.
The 800 victory on Friday by Dumas was a part of great double.
She came back later to win her second straight Group 4 400 hurdle title in 58.06, which is the No. 2 time in the nation this season and just off the Group 4 record of 57.30 that Dumas ran last year.
Dumas is scheduled to run the 200 and 400 on Saturday.
Stay tuned!!!!
