Monmouth Regional Boys, RBC Girls Win Shore A-Central

On September 17th the member schools of the Shore A-Central traveled to Wolf Hill Recreation Area in Oceanport, NJ to compete in early season divisional racing. 

Monmouth Regional Splits 41 Seconds En Route To Divisional Win

The boys' individual title was won after a tight race up front by sophomore Maddox Paulin of Shore Regional just a split second ahead of Connor DeFilippis of Red Bank Catholic, both at a rounded time of 16:53. They were 22 seconds ahead of the field. 

From there the story of the race turned towards the team title as Monmouth Regional rolled in all of their scoring five within the top 10 positions. 

Garrett Walters of Monmouth Regional clocked a 17:15 for third followed by teammate Donovan Ashton in fourth at 17:25. Jacob Kroposky in eighth, Brayden Nulle ninth, and Benjamin Delgado 10th finished up their scoring at 26 points with an average of 17:40 and splitting just 41 seconds!

Rumson-Fair Haven was second totaling 53, Shore Regional was third at 65.

After Top 20 Battle, RBC Wins Girls Divisional Title

In the girls' race, Rumson-Fair Haven teammates Logan Rettino and Kaitlyn Hathaway finished 1-2 at 18:28 and 18:32 respectively. Sarah Thomassen of Monmouth Regional was third at 18:34. 

From there the NJ No. 19 ranked Red Bank Catholic girls stole the show with a 43-second top-five split to win over NJ No. 14 ranked Rumson-Fair Haven 33 to 48. 

RBC seniors Rhiannon Hill and Charlotte Heaton ran to fourth and fifth place runs at 19:24 and 19:38. Kiera McInerney, Naomi Vidal, and Ava Bataglio finished seventh through ninth to close out their top five. Displacers Grace Heaton and Shylah Davis were 13th and 27th, Heaton finished ahead of Rumson-Fair Haven's fifth to help extend the points lead.

Red Bank Catholic averaged 19:47 along with that 43-second split.
