For four years the New Jersey 800m has been led by two athletes who put their names among the very best in state history, Athing Mu and Victoria Vanriele. They are both off the college and a new wave of mid-distance runners must make their claim to be No. 1. 

The fastest time on the board comes from Julianne Kopec's performance at the 2020 Metropolitan Invitational where she saw victory running 2:11.91. A Monmouth and Shore Conference champion Kopec is also a field hockey star and has committed to Temple University. You'll find Kopec in the top five of the 1600m/mile returners list as well.

Four seniors bring back a 2:15 from No. 2 through No. 5. Ryan Davi, Lindsay Colflesh, Katie Hamilton, and Morgan Williams all making up those ranking spots. Colflesh and Williams finished second and third at the Meet of Champions. Jenai Berry was fifth as a freshman at 2:16.92, a great start to her athletic career at Scotch Plains-Fanwood.
