Charlotte Bednar ran the second fastest all-time girls 5K at Holmdel on Wednesday when she won the Holmdel Invite at 17:21, a New Jersey state course record. Only Katelyn Tuohy of North Rockland (NY) has gone faster with her 16:21 from the 2018 Shore Coaches Invitational.
Three girls went under 18 minutes in a magnificent race. Angelina Perez was second at 17:36 now tied for fourth all-time and freshman Christina Allen ran third at 17:50 which ties her with Ashley Higginson at 14th all-time.
After much anticipation the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in New Jersey finally faced off and after the dust cleared the Haddonfield girls came out on top 52 to 65 over Ridgewood.
The Holmdel Invite brought some of the very best in the state of New Jersey together to finally see who was No. 1 for the season.
