High school Olympian Sydney McLaughlin once again took to the track Friday night in an attempt to break the 300 meter national record. This time at the Artie O'Connor College Invitational in New York and she did not leave the track disappointed shattering the time with a performance of 36.82! The previous record was held by Francena McCorory set in 2006 at 36.96.
This was the Union Catholic star's third attempt at the standard this season. Most recently she had just missed the time at the Millrose Games when she ran 37.09 and before that she had posted a 37.11 at the Molloy Stanner Games back in January.
