Five Things to Look for at This Weekend's NJSIAA Relays

6-10+ High Jumpers?

Boys State High Jump Rankings

Right now 6-10 ties you with US#2 this season. New Jersey already has one athlete, Semaj Willis of Trenton Central, who has made that clearance. Willis added that height to his resume on December 27th at the SJTCA#2 meet. He'll be attempting that again during the Group 4 championships, if he can get even higher it would be the first time New Jersey has had anyone over the 6-10 bar since 2011 when Summit's Mark Jones did so at New Balance Nationals Indoor with a National Championship height of 7-0.25.

Others in contention to make it to 6-10 include... Jason Thobourne of JFK Paterson who recently cleared 6-8 NJ#2 at the Garfield SPHJ Invite Series for a nice PR, and he did it on a wooden floor. He will be competing in the Group 4 championship... Dave Alston of Matawan in the Group 2 meet should have your attention as well, he cleared 6-8 along with the above mentioned Semaj Willis last year, the two top returners he currently ranks NJ#4 with a 6-6 this season... Andrew Pondiscio of Sparta, A'Nan Bridgett of WWP-South, and Ronniel Johnson of JFK Paterson also ranked high in the state at 6-6.
