Week 1 Highlights | New Jersey Opens Season on a High Note

This meet took place Friday at the Armory in New York, NY. The only teams in attendance for New Jersey were North Valley Demarest and Pascack Valley, both sending pole vault squads.

The boys were led by senior Jason Mezhibovsky of Northern Valley Demarest who cleared 13-6 NJ#1 to place second. That vault was a major PR for him, before Friday he had a career best of 12-6 when counting both indoor and outdoor. 

Michelle Rubinetti, also a senior from NV-Demarest, had the best New Jersey girls performance with a 11-6 NJ#1 vault for second place. This was the season opener for Rubinetti who placed third at last year's Meet of Champions with an 11-6 and has a PR of 12-6 indoors. She is also the defending Group 2 state champion.
