Despite a mid-season ailment that threatened to derail her spring campaign, Haddonfield freshman Briana Gess won the New Jersey State Meet of Champions 1600m on June 4 to complete a sensational first year of high school. Her time of 4:45.97 is the fastest in the country by a freshman in 2014.
