Archdiocese of Newark St Cassian Invitational 2026

Registration fee: $12 per athlete grades k-8.

Please make checks payable to St Cassian School and bring the day of the meet

k-8 may compete in 2 events and 1 relay (there will not be a fun run)

Mile Split/Please ensure your entries are in

Milesplit by Thursday 4/30. Milesplit will close on 4/30 at midnight

Field Events: The officials will have pre-registered lists for field event athletes.

 Only those registered will be allowed to compete.

Running Events: Every athlete must check-in at the staging area with officials and get their hip number.

Heat sheets will be provided, please inform your runners of the heat and lane they are running

If a runner misses their race/heat we can not put them in another race.

Please ensure your runners are in the staging when their name is called and hip number distributed

8:45 Coaches Meeting

8:55 Prayer/NationalAnthem

9:00 Field Events will be open until start of 200m race

9:00 Running events begin:

1600m (grades 3-8)

400m(grades k-8)

100m(grades k-8)

800m(grades k-8)

200m(grades k-8)

Relay 4X100 (grades k-4)

Relay 4X400 (grades 5-8)

There is no limit on how many relay teams you register. Each Athletes can only run in 1 relay

Divisions:

Separate divisions. Girls run first and then boys. K-2 run first, 3/4^th, 5/6^th and then 7/8th

Awards:Medals to Top

6 Individuals in each event and Top 3 Relay Teams No Team Points/Award

Rules:

Running Events:

Girls may not compete in boys' events. Boys may not compete in girls' events.

Relays cannot be mixed boys/girls.

Divisions may be combined in distance events depending on entry size.

Athletes can run up. Older athletes cannot run in a younger relay/race

Field Events:

Long Jump:

Grades 3-8

6 jumpers per school permitted

3 Attempts, No warm ups/finals

Shot Put:

Grades 3-8 

3 Attempts, No warm up/Finals.

No THROWING the shot put- this will be marked as a foul.

-Girl's 3^rd/4^th, 5^th/6^th

and Boys 3^rd/4^th Divisions will use a 4 lb. Shot Put

-Girl's 7^th/8^th and Boys 5^th/6^th, 7^th/8^th

Divisions will use a 6 lb. Shot Put

Turbo Javelin (300g):

Grades k-6 

3 Attempts, No warm ups/finals

Aero Javelin (450g):

Grade 7 & 8 

3 Attempts, No warm up/finals

Discus:

Grades 7 & 8 

3 Attempts, No warm ups/Finals

Spikes This venue does allow 1/4  inch spikes to be worn

Weather:Meet will be held rain or shine. In case of severe weather, the meet will be cancelled.

Tents:Tents are welcome, MUST Use weights!

Parking:Parking is Limited, carpooling encouraged

Concessions:There will not be concessions. Please plan accordingly for food and drink for your athletes
