Full Results | Race VideosAliyah Taylor had a great open to her individual season at the Lenape Girls Invitational on Saturday when she set two meet records and career bests. The Rancocas Valley junior won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.95 NJ#1 destroying the old record of 12.4h set by Nia Lawrence of Pemberton Twp in 2013. She then doubled back to win the 200 meter recording a 24.83 NJ#1 to take down Aliya Harrison's meet standard of 24.92 from last year. Both of Taylor's times lead the state so far this season. She is coming off a very strong indoor campaign where she won the Meet of Champions 200 meter with a time of 24.94 as well as the 400 meter at Eastern States Championships running 55.21. In both of those Lenape Invitational events Our Lady of Mercy Academy's Iyanla Kollock placed second running 12.30 NJ#2 and 25.52 NJ#3. She is now second all-time for the 100 meter and fourth all-time for the 200 meter in this meet's history. Also at this meet...Sydney Coppolino of Sterling showed off her athleticism winning the 400 meter hurdles and placing second in the 1600 meter run. Her 400 meter hurdle time of 1:06.43 is NJ#5 this season, she already set the meet record last year running 1:04.28. Her double back in the 1600 meter led to a second place time of 5:13.87 NJ#2. The winner of the 1600 meter run was the new state leader Kara Bonner of Shawnee who ran 5:12.20 NJ#1, she now ranks fourth all-time in meet history. Sterling's Janell Rowe won the triple jump with a mark of 36-5.5 NJ#3. In the shot put Kiey'Nay'Ja Hunley of Pennsauken threw 38-10.5 NJ#5, that is a new school record. You can watch all the mentioned races and more right here on the meet page.
