Wynn Does It Again, Wins 2nd Straight 100m Dash Title At NBN

Sianni always finds a way to Wynn!!!!

Sianni Wynn, the electrifying sprint star at Pennsauken High, left a lot of smoke on the track when she burned a wind-legal and U.S. No. 3  time of 11.27 to win her second straight 100-meter dash title in heart-pouding and dramatic fashion at the New Balance National Championships on Friday afternoon at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

In a thrilling showdown, Wynn, the most decorated high school track and field athlete in NJ history, held off a strong challenge from Bullis freshman Mya Arrendell, who closed hard to finish second, also clocking an 11.27!!!

With Arrendell surging late in the race, Wynn found one more gear just before the finish to power her way across the line first.

Just how close was the finish?

Wynn was clocked at 11.264 and Arrendell at 11.270!!!!

The 11.27 by Wynn, which came with a legal tailwind of 0.8 meters per second, is the fastest wind-legal time of her career and is the second fastest time in meet history and No. 3 in NJ history.

Wynn just missed the meet record of 11.26 set in 2024 by Lisa Raye of West Warwick in Rhode Island, and her 11.27 is No. 3 in state history behind Wendy Vereen of Trenton, who ran 11.17 at the 1983 National Sports Festival in Colorado Springs, and Naylah Jones of Timber Creek, who ran 11.23 at the 2024 State Group 3 Championships at Delsea High.

Wynn's previous fastest wind-legal time came when she won this title last year in 11.29. Her fastest time ever is the wind-aided 11.25 she ran to finish first at the 2025 Meet of Champions at Pennsauken High.

The University of Florida-bound Wynn was all smiles after she succesfully defended her title.

"It's still my show,'' said Wynn, who will be back on the track later on Friday to anchor the 4x200 relay. "I didn't leave yet.''

This is the fourth national title for the University of Florida-bound Wynn, who won the 60m and 200m titles at the Nike Indoor Nationals in New York this past March and now has two NBN outdoor championships.

After all she's accomplished, including a NJ record 15 Meet of Champions titles, you would think there's nothing left for Wynn to prove at the high school level. But all season long, she's  said there's one piece of unfinished business to take care of - breaking a NJ outdoor record.

Wynn, second in the 200 at the NB Nationals last year, will get one more chance to do that this weekend when she attempts to take down the NJ 200m dash record of 22.96 that the legendary Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone of Union Catholic at the 2017 State Non-Public A Championships at Silver Eagle Stadium in Egg Harbor.

Wynn will run in the trials of the 200's on Saturday at 1:02 p.m. The 200m finals are scheduled for Sunday at 3:44 p.m.
