Blair Bartlett did it again!!
The indefatigable junior at Lawrenceville added yet another record to her ridiculous resume of achievements when she dropped a 10:02.78 to place fourth in the girls' 2-mile against a loaded field at the Brooks PR Invitational on Sunday at Renton Memorial Stadium in Seattle, Washington.
Bartlet ran the fastest time in NJ history in a 2-mile race, taking down the NJ record of 10:03.18 that Angelina Perez of Lakeland ran to finish first at the 2022 New Balance National Championships. Last month, Bartlett ran a NJ record 9:45.29 for 3,200 meters at the State Prep Championships.
Allison Lee of West Windsor-Plainsboro North finished seventh in 10:07.47, which is No. 4 all-time in NJ history. Lee ran 9:46.78 for 3,200 meters last month, which is No. 2 in NJ history behind Bartlett's 9:45.29.
Chiara Dailey of La Jolla High in San Diego used a huge kick over the final 150 to win the race in 9:49.57. Mia Sirois of Barrington High in Illinois was second 9:51.68. Natasza Dudek of Ann Arbor Pioneer High in Michigan was third in 10:00.22. Dudek won the Nike and Brooks XC National Championships this past December.
Bartlett, who won the 5K at the Nike Indoor Nationals in March and was the runner-up to Dudek at the Nike and Brooks XC Nationals, now has astonishing 9 NJ records (6 indoors and 3 outdoors). And all 9 have all come since February!
