NJSIAA Group Championships - Day 1 @ So. Plainfield

From the friendly confines of Frank Jost Field in South Plainfield, andfrom the brand, spanking new T & F Complex in Old Bridge, NJRunners will be bringing you coverage all weekend long on the NJSIAA Group Track & Field Championships. I will be in SP for Group 2,3 and Ecumenical "B" today with the newest member of our photo team, Skip Pierce. Joe Lanzalotto will be in Old Bridge for Groups 1, 4 and Ecumenical "A" with the rest of our fine group of shooters. Tomorrow, Joe and I will switch and I will get to see the new facility in my hometown.

Today, I will be posting scanned results as we did at the Hillsborough Sectional and doing as much commentary (I hate the word BLOG) as possible. Joe

will be sending updates on the action from Old Bridge.

After a terrific rendition of the National Anthem by by Start Ledger writer and all around great guy, Rich Bevansee (Great Pipes) the meet is underway with the 400H. Group 3 Boys up first. Unless meet management changes thing up, the sequence of events will be as listed below.

Results are starting to come in from the field. Robin Perkins of Trenton Catholic continues her winning ways taking the NP "B" HJ at 5-4

It's 7:30 and all of the Results PDFs are posted. We are posting the remaining Field Events as the arrive.

8:40 and all of the results sheets have been scanned and linked. Great meet today and a Great job by the Hosts and Meet Management.

We will be posting phot galleries from both sites and Joe got some great audio clips that we will be putting up later tonight.

Notes from Old Bridge:

Joe Lanzalotto reports that Jermaine Collier (Trenton Central) won the G4 400H in 52.21 over Christian Boateng of the host school

In the G4 Girls 1600 Joelle Amaral (Randolph) split 71high / 74.5 / 3:40 for a 4:51.4 with Iacone of Wash. Two 2nd at 4:55.5

The Boys G4 1600 went to Tim Ball of Piscataway in 4:12, followed by Levi Jennings (Ridgewood) and Brian Schoepher of WW-P So.

Molly MacNamara of Reb Bank Catholic blasts a 4:44.8
