Meet of Champions - Almost Live

I am not at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions today. No, I am not in Seattle for the Brooks PR meet. I am in Rm 263 at St. Francis Hospital with my wife Danita (Camden Catholic '73).  Seems some mutantly virulent strain of influenza invaded and wreaked havoc in the past few days. She's going to be OK.

Senior Editor Joe Lanzalotto is down at The Bubble holding things down and will update me along the way. We will bring you as much coverage during and after the meet as possible. All results will be posted and performances added to the data base as soon as we receive them.

 Boys - Afternoon Session

The Boys session is literally off and running as Najee Glass of St. Peters Prep wins the opening 400 meters in a MR 48.48 over East Brunswick's Leonard Robbins, who goes 49.04. They are followed by Davonte Artis of Shabazz (49.29)

Joe L. informs me that Joe Rosa is opting for only the 1600 meters today and passing up the 3200. He is entered in the deuce at Easterns on Tues. along with brother Jim.

Erik Johnson of Ocean City wins the 1600 in 4:16.02. Joe Rosa 2nd (4:17.36)  with Ben Malone 3rd (17.62). Johnson, who has toiled in the fast shadow of teammate Miles Schoedler all season breaks out on his own for the MOC crown. Schoedler, the G4 champ is out in Seattle for the Brooks PR meet tomorrow.
