Using the Ranking Lists - A Primer

Now that many, if not all, of New Jersey's harriers have at least one race under their spikes, it might be a good time to review how to use the rankings pages to your best advantage.

There are 2 categories of XC rankings for each gender on the NJRunner/MileSplit Network.

* Individual

* Teams

In both categories to can "drill down" to many different levels.

 

Individuals

2010 NJ Cross Country 5000m Rankings - Boys

2010 NJ Cross Country 5000m Rankings - Girls

 

Beyond looking at the entire state scene, you can look at;

* Pervious years as well as the season so far

* Grade (how do you or your athlete stack up versus classmates)

* Section / Group / Conference - Use the Drop Down Window (Leagues)

* You can also look at rankings based on time from other less commonly run distances.

 

Teams

These rankings list schools based on Season Best (SB) 5000m times, regardless of whether  they were fun in the same meet or in diifferent meets. You can view a few variations here depending on what you are looking for;

 

* Pervious years as well as the present season

Then click on "Advanced Parameters" to view;

* Team Ranking by County

* Section / Group / Conference - Use the Drop Down Window (leagues)

* County (Use Drop Down to Locate)

* You can also see Team Rankings within a radius of your location.
