
The Winslow girls tied a state record and the Depftord boys broke a 56 year-old drought at the NJSIAA Group 3 Championships on Saturday at the Bennett Center in Toms River.
WINSLOW COOKS UP RECORD-TYING 11TH TITLE
In the girls competition, sophomore Jasmine Jackson delivered a sensational performance to power Winslow to its state record-tying 11th state title, as the Eagles rolled to one of the highest point totals in meet history.
Winslow ran away with the championships as expected, racking up 66 points, the second most in Group 3 history to outscore runner-up Ridge by 26 points..
The 11 state indoor titles ties Winslow with Union Catholic for the most ever by a girls' program. Union Catholic won their 11th championship at the Non-Public A meet on Friday.
Jackson led the charge for Winslow.
She won the 55 hurdles in 8.06 and placed third in both the 55 dash (7.22) and the 400 (57.12). Her versatility helped Winslow seize early momentum and maintain control throughout the meet.
Senior Ma'Syiah Brawner added a major boost by winning the high jump at 5-2 and finishing fifth in the hurdles in 8.47. Senior Olivia Okaro contributed a second-place finish in the 55 meters, clocking a 7.13.
Winslow showed its depth right from the start in the 400, where Jackson, junior Cinniya Robinson and sophomore Amariah Arango combined to score 12 points. Jackson finished third, Robinson ran 58.3 for fourth, and Arango crossed in 59.10 for fifth.
Arango also added points in the 800 meters with a fifth-place finish in 2:19.11.
The Eagles put an exclamation point on the meet by winning the 4x400 relay in 3:58.70. The quartet of Okaro, Robinson, Nylah Lovelace-Crump, and Leeya Joseph closed out the championship in dominant fashion.
Winslow's titles have come in Group 4 in 2003 and Group 3 in 2006, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2025 and 2026, further cementing the program's legacy as one of New Jersey's premier programs of all-time.

DEPTFORD ENDS DROUGHT
In the boys' competition, Deptford captured its first indoor state championship since 1970 and second overall with 41 points, finishing a dozen points ahead of defending champion Winslow (29).
Pole vaulter Mason Henry led the charge with a first-place clearance of 15-0. In the 55 hurdles, Larry Norman and Kareem Brown finished second and third with times of 7.60 and 7.67, while senior Johann Hernandez added eight points with a second-place finish in the 55 dash at 6.53. Sophomore John Collier broke the two-minute barrier in the 800 meters, finishing fourth in 1:59.84, and senior Zach Harrison posted a PR of 2:00.72 to finish 6th.
Dpetford also picked up fifth-place finishes from its 4x400 and from Kamaldeep Signh in the pole vault.
BOMBS AWAY
The biggest highlight in the field was produced by Delsea senior Hannah Nuhfer, who unloaded a masive bomb in the shot put with a 48-0!!!! That places Nuhfer No. 10 in NJ indoor history, No. 6 in the nation this season, and smashed her own previous PR and SJ record of 47-6 that she set on Feb. 9 at Ocean Breeze.

The great Sianni Wynn of Pennsauken ran a meet record 55.24 to win the 400 and also finished first in the 55 dash for the fourth straight year in 6.92 to raise her career total to a staggering 14 state group championships (indoors and outdor combined).The University of Florida-bound Wynn is the state record holder in the 55 dash with the 6.73 she ran to finish first at the Meet of Champions last March.
