Nuhfer Unloads Massive Bomb To Win Discus At NBN

Hannah Nuhfer produced one of greatest throws in New Jersey history and smashed mutiple records with a performance for the ages when she won the discus in stunning and jaw-dropping fashion on Friday at the New Balance National Championships at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

Nuhfer, a junior at Delsea, sent the saucer soaring 178-9 on her third attempt to take down the meet record, break the NJ Junior Class Record, vault her all the way up to No. 2 in NJ history, and it's No. 8 all-time by a junior in U.S. history and it places her No. 19 in U.S. history!!!!

Nuhfer, who won the discus at the NJ Meet of Champions on June 4, came into the meet with a PR of 161-4 from the State Group 3 Championships, so she improved that by a mind-boggling 17 feet and 5 inches!!

How awesome is that!!!

Nuhfer, who won by nearly 12 feet, actually PR'd on her second attempt when he threw 167-5, which was the second best mark in the competition, and three thows over 163. J'Nia Simpson of Tampa, Florida finished second with a 166--6.

Here is Nuhfer's series- 153-7, 167-5, 178-9, 160-7, 163-8, and 158-7

The 178-9 by Nuhfer is No. 2 all-time in NJ history behind the 182-0 thrown by the legendary Alyssa Wilson of Donovan Catholic at the 2017 Rowan Open, it broke the meet record of 170-4 set in 2023 by Layla Giordano of Old Tappan, and it broke the NJ Junior Class Record of 175-1 that Wilson unloaded at the 2016 Ocean County Championships.
