Wynn Breaks Her Own NJ Record, Places 2nd In 60m Dash At NIN

Sianni Wynn finished off one of the greatest high school indoor seasons by a female sprinter in New Jersey history the same way she finished off many of her races this winter-with a record breaking performance!!

The electrifying Pennsauken junior placed 2nd in the 60-meter dash on Sunday at the Nike National Championships in New York in 7.29 to break her own NJ record of 7.32 that she ran three times this season. Wynn also ran 7.32 in the preliminary round on Saturday and in the semifinals on Sunday, and clocked her first 7.32 last month at the Penn Relays Winter Showcase at the Ott Center in Philadelphia.

Dana Wilson of Greensboro Day School in North Carolina set a meet record by running a blazing 7.16, which equals her U.S. No. 2 all-time performance that she ran last month. The only high school sprinter in U.S. history faster than Wilson in the 60m is junior Lisa Raye of West Wariwick in Rhode Island, who ran 7.13 at the Millrose Games last month.

According to South Jersey T&F historian Reuben Frank, Wynn's 7.29 is No. 14 on the World Under-20 list and No. 8 among U.S. women, No. 45 among all U.S. women, and makes her the ninth fastest New Jersey sprinter ever!

Wynn, who placed second to Raye in the 100m at the New Balance Nationals last June in Philly, finished the season with state records in the 55 (7.73, which is tied for U.S. No. 8 all-time), the 60 (7.29), and the 200 (22.81).

Wynn's historic season also featured a third straight sweep of the 55m and 200m dashes at the Meet of Champions to give her a state record six indoor M of C titles!! She has also captured three outdoor M of C titles to give her a total of nine M of C titles in her career. Wynn has never lost a race at the Meet of Champions, indoors or outdoors! She's a perfect 9 for 9!
