Sianni Wynn Takes Down Another State Record!!


Sianni Wynn's record-smashing season continued when the junior at Pennsauken cooked up a NJ record and facility record of 7.32 to win the girls 60-meter dash at the Penn Relays Winter Showcase on Saturday afternoon at the Ott Center at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Wynn's time of 7.32 broke the NJ record of 7.34 that Myasia Jacobs of Paramus Catholic ran to win the 60 at the 2011 New Balance National Championships at the New York Armory.

The sizzling Wynn also won the 200 in 23.62, just off the state record of 23.60 she ran 13 days ago at the SJTCA Winter Series on Jan. 22  at the Ott Center!!  

Ryan Jennings, a senior at Timber Creek, was second to Wynn on Saturday in both the the 60m in 7.48, which is No. 6 in NJ history, and the 200 in 24.30!  Jennings ran 23.93 in the 200 last month, which is No. 3 in NJ history.

Wynn's 7.32 is No. 2 in the nation this season, trailing only junior Lisa Raye of West Warwick High in Rhode Island, who ran 7.24 at the New York International Showcase last weekend at Ocean Breeze. Wynn's 23.60 is currently No. 5 in the nation this season.
