The Colts Neck boys took over the national lead in the distance medley relay on Friday when they dropped a US No. 1 time of 10:17.27 at the Penn Relays Winter Showcase at the Ott Center on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
The splits for Colts Neck were 3:07.69 for 1,200 by junior Jay Adimala, 50.44 for 400 by junior Joseph Louro, 2:03.12 for 800 by sophomore Dominic Marino and 4:16.03 for the 1,600 anchor by senior Hunter Celkupa.
Colts Neck, the only team in the nation under 10:20 at the moment, won the race by more than four seconds over Lower Merion of Pa., second in 10:21.94.
