Liliah Gordon Makes College Choice: The Winner Is Penn State


Liliah Gordon of Northern Burlington Regional, one of the top distance running recruits in the country, announced her college choice on Sunday night. The winner is Penn StateGordon also visited North Carolina State, Furman, Alabama, Wake Forest, and Syracuse. 

Gordon has built a remarkable resume during her amazing high school career.

On the trails, Gordon has won two straight state Group 3 championships, has a Holmdel Park PR of 18:14, and was a Foot Locker National finalist. Gordon has finished in the top 10 at the NJSIAA Cross Country Meet of Champions three times, 8th as a freshman, 7th as a sophomore, and 5th as a junior.


She opened her senior season this past Saturday by winning her third varsity race title at the Shore Coaches Invitational when she crossed first in the C Division race in 18:21.

On the track, Gordon owns PRs of 4:51.84 in the 1600m, 10:22.20 for 3200m, and 17:04.54 for 5K, and has captured a total of three state titles in the 3200m (two indoors and one outdoors). Last winter she was second in the 3200m at the NJSIAA Indoor Meet of Champions.
