Holmdel Twilight Season Ender Cancelled

Lucas Reguinho leads a stacked field to the line to win the Holmdel Twilight Royal Rumble on May 17th.

On Wednesday it was announced that the Holmdel Twilight Series - Season Ender which was scheduled to hold competition the night of June 7th has been cancelled. The decision was made due to the increasing risk of air quality in the area.

The statement released by Holmdel Supervisor of Athletics Mike Casale:

"This morning, we have been closely monitoring the air quality situation in and around Holmdel High School. Currently, the air quality index stands at 172, up from the usual number of approximately 70. Therefore, in consultation with the NJSIAA and the Department of Health, we have decided to cancel tonight's track meet. Although disappointing, the safety of the student-athletes, coaches and spectators will always be paramount. Considering the number of end-of-school year events taking place over the next few weeks, unfortunately, we will be unable to reschedule the meet. Thank you for your understanding."

NJ MileSplit was scheduled to run a livestream of the competition and had full coverage from the previous two meets in the series on May 3rd and 17th.
