On Saturday at the Bubble in Toms River, New Jersey the Middlesex County Relays team title came down to the final race of the night.
The East Brunswick and South Brunswick girls were tied at 48 points a side and it was winner take all in the 4x400m.
After the field spread apart early the East Brunswick girls made a dramatic comeback and Chloe Smith anchored them home to the Championship in a wild final 400 meters of the night.

After the 4x400m squad comprised of Paige Michlik, Danielle Lederman, Ariana D'Onofrio, and Chloe Smith were victorious. East Brunswick finished two points ahead 58 to 56 over South Brunswick.
The overall total saw eight points come from the shot put relay (Kayla Collins, 28-3.5, and Mariela Sarmiento, 27-10.5), 12 combined points from the high jump (Anna Sawicki, 4-8, and Kendall Clarritt, 4-4) and pole vault (Arianna McSweeney, 10-6, and Kathryn McSweeney, 10-0), and 38 points from the track.
East Brunswick gold medal events included a 34.08 in the 4x51.5m shuttle hurdle relay, the pole vault relay, and of course the "walk-off" 4x400m relay win clocked at 4:18.14.
That shuttle team included the above mentioned Paige Michlik, Chloe Smith, Arianna McSweeney, and Anna Sawicki.
East Brunswick also scored running second in the 4x800m 10:34.96, second in the 4x200m 1:51.17, and fifth in the sprint medley 4:40.78.
