Clearview Girls Rock South Jersey Open

The Clearview girls, ranked No. 3 in NJ, continued to burn up the trails with a sizzling performance at Saturday's South Jersey Open at Dream Park in Logan Township.

The Pioneers dominated the Division 3 race by jamming six runners in the top 10 and averaging 19:33 on the way to 25-82 victory over runner-up Southern. Clearview, the clear favorite to win the State Group 3 title next month, went 1-4-5-6-9-10 and put six runners ahead of Southern's No. 1 runner.  

Senior Abigail Waddington led the assault for Clearview by winning the race in 18:36. Senior Abigail Kotran was fourth (19:06),  junior Margaret Wisniewski fifth (19:38), junior Allison Roes sixth in 19:52, senior Aubrey Donahue was ninth in 20:02, and sophomore Lilla Porter was 10th, also running 20:22.

In the girls Division 1 race, senior 
Arianna Cane finished first with a PR of 19:33 to lead Bishop Eustace to a 34-70 triumph over runner-up Camden Catholic, and Moorestown won a wild three-way battle in Division 2 over runner-up Sterling and third-place Haddon Heights, 63-66-67. Senior  Stephanie Renouf of Cinnaminson won the Division race in 19:18.      

In the boys team competition,  Cinnaminson, led by winner Alex Boyko (15:43), put their scoring five in the top 12 on the way to a 28-69 win over Moorestown in Division 2. Haddon Township defeated Bishop Eustace, 40-68, to win the Division 1 title. Cherry Hill East had a 1-5 compression of just 19 seconds to win the Division 3 title, 34-87-87 over Cherokee, who placed second, and Washington Township. Cherokee, ranked No. 3 in the state, didn't run their top guns.

The individual boys winner in Division 3 was senior Ryan Smith NJ of Rancocas Valley (16:15), while junior Aiden Williams of Audubon ran a PR of 16:31 to finish first in the Division 1 race.
