Marco Langon And Peyton Hollis Crack NJ Top 10 All-Time List

While most of the attention on Friday was on the opening day of the NJSIAA Sectional Championships, Marco Langon and Peyton Hollis dropped two of the fastest times in NJ history at the John Hay Distance Festival at Henderson High School in West Chester, Pa.   

Langon, a senior at Bridgewater-Raritan, ran the sixth fastest time in state history when he finished second in the open mile in 4:05.91!

The Villanova-bound Langon, who finished behind former RBC star and current NYAC member Rob Napolitano (4:03.87), had splits of 1:01.97, 1:00.69 (2:02.65), 1:02.04 (3:04.68), and 1:01.23. Harvard-bound Shane Brosnan of Union Catholic finished eighth in 4:12.19.  

In the mixed 800, Hollis, a sophomore at Union Catholic, ran the second fastest girls time of the meet when she blasted a 2:06.42, No. 10 all-time in NJ history, and NJ No. 1 and US No. 8 this season. Hollis split 61.27/65.16.   

The top NJ high school boy in the 800 was Virginia-bound Myles Plummer of Union Catholic, fourth in a NJ No. 3 1:51.39. Plummer finished just behind former CBA star Tim McInerney of Georgetown, third in 1:51.29.
