Marco Langon Rips NJ No. 3 All-Time Performance In Mile

Holy smokes!!!

Marco Langon threw down one of the greatest performances in NJ history at Sunday's Grand Prix Meet at Ocean Breeze on Staten Island.

The Villanova-bound star from Bridgewater-Raritan blasted a 4:07.18 to place second in the boys' Junior  Mile to move all the up to No. 3 all-time in NJ indoor history, and No. 4 in the nation this season!

Langon, coming off one of the best cross-country seasons in state history where he won the Meet of Champions title and earned All-American, finished behind Stanford recruit Gavin Sherry of Conrad High in Connecticut, who finished first in a US No. 2 4:05.10.

Langon's splits were 1:01.60, 2:03.94, and 3:06.52. He closed with a final quarter of 1:00.66.

Langon is now right behind two all-time NJ legends on the state indoor mile list.

The only New Jersey runners to go faster in the mile indoors than Langon are Edward Cheserek of St. Benedict's Prep, who ran 4:02.21 at the 2012 New Balance Games at the NY Armory, and Vince Cartier of Scotch Plains-Fanwood, who won the mile at the 1972 Meet of Champions at Princeton's Jadwin Gym in 4:06.6.

Can Langon make a run at Cheserek's state record?

Time will tell.
