Foster Soars To NJ No. 2 All-Time And US No. 1 In Long Jump

Greg Foster exploded off the board and soared his way to the second best long jump performance in state indoor history when he leaped 24-8 at the Mercer County Championships on Friday night at the Lawrenceville School.

Foster, a senior at Lawrenceville, trails only the legendary Carl Lewis of Willingboro on the state's all-time indoor long jump list. Lewis leaped 25-5.50 to finish first at the Eastern Championships in 1979 at Jadwin Gym in Princeton.

The 24-8 by the Princeton University-bound Foster, which broke his PR by eight inches, is also the No. 1 jump in the country this season.
