Boys Meet Recap: Passaic Tech, behind seniors Keshon Holt and Jordan Ricketts, edged Ridgewood, 78-75 for its first title since 1990, juniors Jacob Heredia of Clifton and AJ McKay of Mount Olive turned in a remarkable triple, Jessie Legister became the first in the state to crack 48 in the 400 this season, and Mount Olive smashed a county record.

Holt, who celebrated his birthday on Friday by winning the 100 in 10.81, scored 25 points for Passaic Tech. In addition to his 100 victory, he also placed second in the 200 (21.57), third in the 400 (49.29), and sixth in the long jump (20-2). Ricketts contributed 19 points individually by winning the 400 hurdles in a NJ#2 54.59, placing second in the 400 in a NJ#4 48.45, finishing sixth in the 200, and he ran a leg on Passaic Tech's 4x400 that picked up a clutch third-place to seal the deal.

Ricketts placed second in the 400 behind Montclair senior Legister, who dropped a NJ#1 47.93!! Legister also burned a NJ#2 21.31 to win the 200!!!!

Heredia and McKay were also sensational.

Heredia won the 1600 in 4:16.49, the 3,200 in 9:44.89, and the 800 in 1:56.92!!!

McKay, the state leader in the TJ at 48-7, swept all three jumps. He smashed the meet record in the triple jump with a 48-1, and won the HJ (6-0) and LJ (21-2.25).

Mount Olive took down the Morris County record in the 4x100 when Anthony Rocco, Anthony Thulin, John Lucas Trombley, and Gabriel Maya combined to finish first in a NJ#2 42.63!! That broke the county record of 42.67 that was set by Morris Hills at the 2012 Morris County Relays at Morris Knolls High School. 


Girls Meet Recap: Ridgewood won its third straight title and sectional leading14th overall with an 100.50-88 victory over Montclair, and Andree Celestin of West Orange smashed a meet record, and Mia Dubac of Clifton doubled in the distances.

Ridgewood racked up 50 points in the three distance races, and picked up wins from Lucia Rabolli in the 800, and from its 4x800 squad on the way to the victory. 

Celestin, a senior, smashed her school record and the sectional Group 4 record and tied the N.J. Section 1 overall record in the hurdles when she took over the state lead in the event with a 13.89. Celestin broke the Group 4 sectional record of 14.0 set in 1980 by Karen Gaines of Teaneck, and equaled the All-Time Sectional record of 13.89 that Reanda Richards of West Essex set in 2018.

Dubac, a senior, won the 1600 in 4:59.29, and the 3,200 in 10:59.86.
