Special thanks to South Jersey T&F historian Reuben Frank for several of the stats you'll see in this boys recap

Boys Meet Recap:  Coach Martin Booker's Willingboro squad increased its sectional title total to 18 by outscoring Roselle Park, 103-75.

Willingboro's 18 sectional titles are the third most boys championships in state history. Only Metuchen, which has won a state record 26 in Central Jersey, and New Providence, which won its 21st title this weekend in NJ. Sec. 2, have won more sectional trophies that the Chimeras.

This is the third time Willingboro has won three straight sectional title, and this marks the 8th sectional title overall that Booker has captured. Booker won five titles when he coached the powerhouse Camden squads, and has now won three at Willingboro.

Willingboro's latest championship featured scoring from all over the track and in the field, including most of its points coming from its deep collection of young stars.

Freshman star Malachi James won the 100 in 10.95 and the 200 in 22.46 to become possibly the first freshman boy to ever sweep those events at a South Jersey Sectional Championship.

Other winners for Willingboro were junior CJ Johnson, who captured  the shot put (51-8.50) and the discus (129-7, and senior Glenn Ferguson finished first in the pole vault.

Also contributing big points for Willingboro were juniors Miles Allen and Anaias Hughes.

Allen was second in the 400 IH with a PR of Allen of 58.93, placed 4th in the 400 in 53.43, and ran on the winning 4x400 (3:33.63), and 4x100 (44.58) relays. Hughes dropped a PR of 15.57 to place third in the high hurdles, and finished second in the high jump by clearing 5-8.

Girls Meet Recap: Shore Regional, behind Caroline Donohue's amazing quad and Megan Donlevie's distance double, won its first title in 17 years and its fifth overall with a dominating 124-66 victory over South Hunterdon.

Donohue, a junior, put on an remarkable show by winning the 400 in 58.57, winning the 400 hurdles in 1:06.50, finishing first in the 800 in 2:21.42, and then splitting 58 point as the anchor on the first-place 4x400!

Donlevie, a sophomore, led a 1-2-3 finish for Shore by winning the 1,600, and also captured the 3,200 for Coach Mel Ullmeyer's squad. Shore also picked up a victory from senior Madison LaRosa in the javelin. LaRosa also finished second in the discus.
