NJSIAA Meet of Champions winner and Group 3 State Champion jumper Tierra Hooker signed with Mississippi State University. Announced Thursday on twitter by the Timber Creek Athletic Department.
Earlier in the week the Timber Creek senior had released her other final five schools including Texas Tech, University of Florida, Maryland, and Rutgers. She is the third best returner in the country from last indoor season in the high jump and the sixth outdoors at 5-10.
Hooker has had multiple great seasons but she really took off her junior year not only winning the NJ Meet of Champions High Jump both indoor and outdoor but also placing second in the Heptathlon at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. She's gathered multiple Group 3 State titles between the high jump and long jump over her career and has a PR clearance of 5-10.
Along with that high jump PR she's cleared 19-2 in the long jump, ran 14.51 in the 100m hurdles and 8.23 in the 55m hurdles. She's had six top five finishes in the high jump at the NJ Meet of Champions over her career so far.
