The first annual Run the Highlands XC Invitational took place on Saturday in West Milford, NJ and it brought some close team scoring. West Milford and Parsippany battled it out for both Varsity wins.
In the boys race it came down to one point with West Milford scoring 36 just ahead of Parsippany's 37. Parsippany junior Dominic Romero brought in the one card with a 16:17 and West Milford's Collin Clinton wasn't far behind in second at 16:23.
From there West Milford saw the rest of their scoring five come in a wave from ninth through 12th! Which was just too much to come back from for Parsippany. Final scoring lines for both teams, West Milford 2-7-8-9-10 and Parsippany 1-5-6-12-13.

On the girls side Parsippany secured the victory with 37 points to West Milford's 56. Parsippany's attack got off to a great start with Katherine Castano and Lindsey Zicker finishing second and third at 20:55 and 21:26. West Milford's first scorer, Kate Vreeland, crossed the line in fourth at 21:27.
The individual winner of the girls varsity race was Cynthia Aguero of Fort Lee clocking 20:46.
