Christian Brothers Academy keeps on streaking!!
The Colts, ranked No. 1 in NJ and No. 10 nationally, extended one of the greatest streaks in U.S. high school history for any sport on Tuesday when they opened its season by defeating Middletown South and Freehold Boro at Holmdel Park to run its remarkable national record dual meet winning streak to 366 in a row!!!
CBA hasn't lost a dual meet since Raritan dealt the Colts a 15-49 loss on Oct. 20, 1973. That's right, your eyes are fine-CBA hasn't lost a dual in 46 years!!!! CBA began the streak with a 15-50 victory over Marist on Sept. 19, 1974.

The streak climbed to 366 when senior Tim Cahill finished first in 17:06 to lead the charge for the Colts, who jammed five runners in the top six spots with a 1-2-4-5-6 finish on the way to a 15-50 victory over Freehold Boro and 18-37 over Middletown South.
After Cahill, CBA's scoring five consisted of Chase Cauvin (17:06), Sean Elliott (17:27), Mike DeMasi (17:40), and Paul Trezza (17:56). Those are PR's at Holmdel, the state championship course, for Cauvin, DeMasi, and Trezza.
CBA, which won the Meet of Champions for the second straight year last November to raise its state record total to 23, and captured the Nike Northeast Regional and placed 18th at Nike Nationals last year, is expected to put its top runners on the line for the first time this season at the Bowdoin Park Invit. on Sept. 21 in Wappingers Falls, N.Y.
CBA has made it to Nike Cross Nationals 11 out of the past 15 years and is seeking a 10th straight berth this season. After failing to qualify from 2006 to 2009, CBA placed fifth in 2010 and won the national title in 2011. Since 2011, CBA has finished in the top 10 times, including a second-place finish in 2013.
