The 3200m was the event of the meet this year at the Cliff Back Invitational which took place Wednesday night at Drew University in Madison, NJ.

For the girls there were three top ten state times in the 3200m competition. Julia Trethaway of West Morris Central led the way with her big PR and NJ#1 performance of 10:52.98. She is the first girl to break 11 minutes this season and with two mile conversions added in she now sits at US#4 in the event. This also took down the meet record previously held by Brennan Sharkey, also of West Morris Central, since 2014 at 11:16.33.

A junior, Trethaway is coming off a strong season in cross country where she finished 6th at the Meet of Champions. She already ranks NJ#2 US#4 this season for the 1600m with her 5:02.33 win at the Len Pietrewicz Invitational on December 30th. Knocking on that sub-5 door!
