New Jersey's throwing sensation Alyssa Wilson had two US#1 performances and broke her own state record in the discus on Saturday evening at the Rowan University Girls HS Open.
The Donovan Catholic star threw for a mark of 182-00, a US#1 performance this season US#11 all-time. Her previous best in the discus event was a 175-1 which won her the Ocean County title in 2016. She wasn't done there and went on to throw another US#1 in the shot put at 54-07.25. You can watch her hit that mark below.
Wilson holds the indoor national record in the shot put thanks to her 57-5.5 win at Eastern States Championships in February. For the outdoor season she holds the state records in both the shot put and discus where she ranks US#2 and US#11 all-time respectively. Her best so far in the outdoor shot is 55-9.25 which won New Balance Nationals Outdoor in 2016.
