GIRLS - The jumps leaders came from four different meets this week. We'll go to the sand pits first, where some solid performances have occurred right out of the gate. In the long jump Tionna Tobias of Winslow Twp leapt to an 18-1. The sophomore has a best of 18-10.75 set last year early on as well. For the triple jump Marlboro's Gianna Gomez cleared 37-8.5 at the Rocket Relays.

In the high jump we have a four way tie for the state lead at 5-02. Victoria Sakowska of Bayonne, Katelyn Reid of Middletown North, Abrianna Barrett of Montgomery, and Noa Levy of Princeton all cleared the height at various meets.

The pole vault has two tied for the state lead lead with  Cristina Young of Bridgewater-Raritan who cleared 11-0 at the Raider Relays and Caroline McGann of the Academy of the Holy Angels who vaulted the same height at the Season Opener Invitational.

[Updated 4/6 12:00pm, individual field results from the season opener came late in the week and showed Caroline McGann also cleared 11-0 to tie Young for the state lead.]

BOYS - The boys high jump is led by Stephen Staklinski of Freehold Twp who cleared 6-06 at the Metuchen Relays on Saturday. He had a quiet indoor season before finishing fifth at New Balance Nationals Indoor with a height of 6-09.

Brandon Kong of Bridgewater-Raritan who also had a solid winter leads the state in the pole vault with a clearance of 13-00.

In the long jump Michael Troup of the Lawrenceville School helped his team win the NJISAA Prep Relays title with his state leading mark of 21-08. Jaquan Mial of Elizabeth set the early season standard in the triple jump with a 44-10 from Metuchen Relays.
